SaddleUp - Texas Ranching and Tradition!

PolkaWorks is excited about our latest project SaddleUp—Texas Ranching and Tradition! —a celebratory survey and interpretive exhibition that depicts a contemporary story of Texas ranchers and their lifestyles. Texas ranchers have played an instrumental role in shaping American ranch practices and have adapted to urban and agricultural shifts over time. They have found ways to survive the on-going challenges of current economics.

The beautiful and compelling images in this exhibit tell a captivating story and elicit and record the oral histories of ranching families. Viewers of the exhibit learn of and will witness examples of today’s Texas cowhand in various geographical areas of our Lone Star landscape. Curators are Lori Najvar and Joe Vitone.

This project is supported by Humanities Texas and Texas Commission of the Arts.
